Selwyn Samuel Centre to provide support for the NHS and its fight against the Coronavirus.
Llanelli Town Council has moved quickly with Carmarthenshire County Council to provide support for the NHS and its fight against the Coronavirus.
As a result, the Town Council has leased the Selwyn Samuel Centre to the County Council for the provision of extra bed space for secondary care provision by Hywel Dda University Health Board.
The Leader of the Council, Councillor Shahana Najmi, stated "The Town Council will provide the Selwyn Samuel Centre rent free to the County Council and the Hywel Dda University Health Board in order to assist in this global fight against the Coronavirus. It is paramount that we all follow the official guidance and limit our exposure to the virus by staying home wherever possible and staying safe."
The Centre will undergo some temporary changes in order to provide a safe environment for the staff and patients fighting the virus. These changes will be reversed when the demand for the extra bed space is no longer required.
